Stunning from every angle

When you first set eyes on the new JPX One driver, you’ll appreciate the efforts that Mizuno has put into making a club that looks great all over. The head is predominantly black with highlights of Mizuno’s signature blue on the head and toe sections of the clubhead.

The face is particularly intricate with square shapes dotted all around the sweet spot and horizontal blue indicators hugging the left and right edges of the face. Mizuno’s latest tech ‘nonalloy’ is stencilled on the top left of the face, and the model’s name is prominently etched by the hosel. The club’s sole features aerodynamic shaping that looks sleek, and the club simply feels fast.

The driver is certainly easy on the eye, but how does it actually perform better than other clubs out there? We’ll now take a dive into the tech that makes this club tick.

The tech under the hood

You may or may not have heard how Mizuno are renowned for capturing a soft pleasing feel in their irons, and they’ve done their very best to approach their woods with the same exceptional craftsmanship. The drivers in the JPX One driver range, both the JPX One and the JPX One Select, are the world’s first drivers with Nanoalloy tech woven into the clubhead.

This Nanoalloy construction allows for greater face deformation when the club impacts the golf ball, essentially meaning the head stores more of the ball’s energy at impact to better propel the ball forwards, resulting in greater ball speeds for more distance down the fairway.

Mizuno have also incorporated a new edition of their Cortech face design into the JPX One clubhead to better accommodate the Nanoalloy construction, resulting in a club that feels solid as you strike through the ball and helps you hit the ball further.

There are two clubs in the latest Mizuno driver range, and both the JPX One and the JPX One Select are excellent offerings, but which one would best suit you?

Models in the range

The standard JPX One driver houses all the fantastic tech we’ve just discussed, including Mizuno’s Cortech face and Nanoalloy construction. This driver has a larger sole out of the two drivers, giving it bigger profile for greater overall forgiveness. This is an all-round excellent driver and will help you strike the ball further and with greater accuracy.

The JPX One Select also features the latest Mizuno tech, but has been crafted with a more compact head shape. A more workable 460cc head is very aerodynamic and will be perfect for players with faster swing speeds. The mass properties and slight fade tendencies make this club perfect for skilled players who prefer to shape their shots.
