With the warmer weather, lighter evenings and the Masters golf tournament around the corner it feels like the start of the golf season. Tomorrow we have over 160 members competing in a Stableford competition, on Sunday we have a junior competition and on Monday evening we see the start of the Monday Social Mixed.

The draw for this year's Summer Knockouts has taken place and has been published on the notice board.
The Monday Mixed Social starts again on the 7th April at 5pm. This is a very friendly mixed 9 hole competition that is open to all members. The competition is very well supported by the Ladies but we do need some more men to participate. If you are interested in playing there is a signup sheet in the club house for you to enter.
With The Masters fast approaching, we have started our pro shop sweepstake. If you want to take part then please come and see us in the shop.
Simon Davies from the pro shop
Simon is currently working in the pro shop with the ambition of starting his professional career in September.
Congratulations to Simon who organised a team to play in the Hope House Charity Day at The Astbury. Simon shot a gross 67 (4 under par) to win the individual event. The team consisting of George Valler, Rob Ball and Graham Palmer finished on 81 points just 3 behind the the leading team on 84 pts.
It was great to see Simon play so well and shoot his best ever round. He feels he putted really well after changing his putter grip last week to a super stroke grip. These are new grips in stock which are growing in popularity. They come in different sizes and Simon is now an expert in fitting these grips so please call in if you are interested in this product.
New Stock
For the men we now have some of this Summer season's clothing collections from Oscar Jacobsen, Peter Millar, Under Armour and Mizuno. There are some great summer colour’s available in both shirts and trousers so call in to the pro shop this weekend to have a look.
We have some NEW STOCK in the shop which has resulted in a lot of interest from the members. The new D.N.A. shoe from FootJoy, pictured right, has been receiving a lot of attention. Please call into the shop to take a look at this, and the rest of the impressive new FootJoy range.
S&H Winter Alliance
This week Josh took a team from the golf club to play at Patshull Park in the Shropshire and Herefordshire Alliance.
Josh had a good round of 2 under par to finish 3rd 1 shot behind the winners that tied for 1st on 3 under. The team all had a very enjoyable day on the golf course helped by some glorious weather. Senior Coaching
The Senior Coaching sessions continues to be a success. We had a very good turn out on Wednesday hitting drivers with hopefully everybody going away with a couple of points to help them. We have one more session left on Wednesday 9th April - 10.30 till 11.30 - Bunker shots and lob shots. Please register in the pro shop if you would like to attend.
Ladies Group Coaching
We will be starting our Ladies Coaching sessions on Tuesday 8th April from 9.30 till 10.30. The first session will be covering chipping. The sessions will cost £7 per person, please register in the pro shop or you can book by clicking here.
Junior Coaching
We are starting our Friday night Junior academy sessions on Friday the 18th April at 4.30pm. All Juniors are welcome to attend, if any members know of any children who may be interested in starting golf please contact the pro shop for more information. These sessions will run almost every Friday evening from mid April through to September.
Refurbished Changing Rooms
The Changing rooms should soon be back in full use and their is a formal opening planned at 1pm on Saturday April 12th by the respective Captains.
