Monday Night Mixed Social
September traditionally brings diminishing light and poor weather. The Monday night socials begin to move earlier in the evening to ensure play is possible before drawing to a conclusion with an 18 hole final on Saturday 26th September. However, the weather on Monday was glorious and 17 players took to the front nine in beautiful sunshine to enjoy walking down the fairways admiring the trees resplendent in different colours and berries.
Sixteen points saw Caroline Sycamore and Bernard Martin into third position, while Hilary Fabian and David Beardman clinched second with 20 points. Jill Perrin and David Kidby were a further four points clear of second position to claim victory. All 17 players retired to the club house to enjoy a warming chilli or a hot cheese and tomato quiche. Ruth Grafton and Roy Dodd won this week's spot prize for the best performance on even holes.
There are two further opportunities to play in the Monday night socials as they begin to draw to a close with evenings becoming darker earlier. Should you wish to play in these or in the 18 hole final on the Saturday then please sign up on the notice board. You would be more than welcome.
