Captain / Pro Match
Thank you very much to Ray Buttery and Russ Price who challenged us to a match on Wednesday and donated money to the Captains Charity. It was a great evening with lots of competitive banter. Ray and Russ reminded me on the tee that they had never lost against the captain and pro and with that they made 4 nett birdies in the first five holes. The Captain and I were concerned that history was about to repeat its self as we stood 2 down after 9. Fortunately both the captain and I managed to make 2 gross birdies each during the next 5 holes to give us a slender lead which we held on to the close. With everyone playing well and contributing it made for a very enjoyable match, especially for the Captain who managed to hole his chip shot at a pivotal moment.
Captains Charity Day
Enter a team of four and enjoy a round of golf followed by tasty food, with the chance to win some great prizes. The money raised will help fund vital equipment, like incubators, in the neonatal unit at The Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, the charity selected this year by The Captain, Nick Baker, Lady Captain, Tina Robinson and Junior Captain, Joe Sherratt. Please take time to support this event and help to make it a fantastic fun day while raising some much needed funds to help save the lives of premature babies. There will be a raffle to win a range of prizes and an auction where you could bag yourselves some unique items, from shirts signed by world class professionals to an exclusive bottle of port. A team of four can play for just £90 including food and winning scores will reap valuable prizes many worth over £120.
