Captains Away Day 

Well done to our Captain Nick Baker who organised a fantastic away day to Brocton Hall. Over 70 members supported this away day and I think with the great weather and fine venue, the day was very successful. By all accounts the Brocton members also enjoyed their day at Shrewsbury Golf Club. 

Open Championship 

Thank you to all the members who have taken part in the pro shop sweep. Please click here to see the draw. If you have not drawn one of the favourites keep your eye on the high score of the day as we do pay out £5 each day on the worst score. 

I hope you all enjoy the golf this weekend, hopefully our local player Ashley Chesters can go one better than last year and make the cut. He had a great start yesterday and we would like to wish him the best of luck today. Look out for Ricky Pharo who is caddying for Ashley. Currently the Americans Jordan Spieth, Dustin and Zach Johnson are looking good but it is great to see some home Scottish pros near the top of the leaderboard. If the weather becomes testing it could be a very interesting weekend. 




Club Championships 

Congratulations to the Martyn Travis who was crowned Club Champion after rounds of 69 and 74 on Sunday. In tough windy conditions Martyn's two scores were excellent especially the score of 1 under par in the morning. Tom Kerr came a very close second with two good scores of 73 and 72. Congratulations also go to Stewart Jones who won the nett prize with scores of 71 and 68.

Ladies Mini League 

Well done to the Ladies that played against Market Drayton and recorded a 4-0 win. 

This year the Ladies have won 2 matches, drawn 1 and lost 1. Lady Captain would like to thank all the Ladies that have played this year.
