The sun shone on Monday evening as 25 members tee'd off on the front nine in their mixed pairings to enjoy another social match and evening of fun and laughter. Colourful clothing and rich banter accompanied some fantastic golf complimenting the excellent condition the course is in currently.
The superb greens saw the winning teams rolling puts in from over six foot to maximise their stableford points. In third place Maggie Smith and David Clark scored a tremendous 22 points beating a number of teams on 21 points. Hilary Fabian and Clive Harding took second place with 23 points while Caroline Sycamore and David Czarnetzki won the evening with 24 points.
This week's spot prize was the best score on the even holes and was won by Hilary Fabian and Rob Harding. All members are welcome to play in this fun evening. If you would like to play please sign up on the mixed notice board in the clubhouse.

Shrewsbury Juniors V Bridgnorth Juniors Match Result 3-2 Win
Thank you to Joe our Junior Captain who supplied the following report;
In the first match Joe Sherratt playing off 7 took on Connor White who plays off 1. A game which had many different score lines and ended with Joe winning the match 1up on the last after being all square after 17.
In the second game Larissa Jones took on Toby from Bridgnorth giving him 9 shots. Larissa won convincingly 5&4 to give the team a good lead.
Sam Paterson played next giving 14 shots but was to lose his match on the 17th. In the penultimate game Dan Sherratt took on Max from Bridgnorth giving him 14 shots but like Larissa won convincingly 5&4.
In the final game Saffron Jones was given 6 shots but unfortunately went on to lose the match 5&4 but overall a good win for the team who can get to the finals of the competition with a win against Patshull Park Juniors on Saturday - Any support would be great.
Good luck to the team on Saturday.
Congratulations to our Head green keeper Dan Perry who completed the Shrewsbury Half Marathon this weekend in a time of 1 hour 26 minutes, finishing in 72nd place.
Dan was running for the captain's charity The Neo Natal Unit at PRH and has raised over £700 so far and would like to thank you all for your donations.
Josh and Simon would like to thank all the members who encouraged them on Monday when they played in a qualifying round for the Open Championship.
Josh has been striking the ball really well over the past few weeks and handled the pressure well but made a costly mistake on 11th hole which finished his hopes.
For Simon it was his first big event and he will have learnt much from the experience.

Bob Davies ( Midland President ) and long standing member of Shrewsbury Golf Club has informed me that Shrewsbury Golf Club has been chosen to host a top Midland Amateur event in 2016.
The club has been nominated to host the Midland qualifying round of the English Championshjp.
The top 60 amateurs from the 10 midland counties will play in the 36 hole event in which every stroke counts.
Shropshire and Herefordshire have never won the title but produced a good performance in this year's event at Gog Magog in Cambridgeshire, where they finished fourth after occupying second spot behind winners Lincolnshire at the halfway stage.
Hawkstone Park's England international, Ashley Chesters, finished runner up in the individual event on seven under par.
