Pro's news

Ending the year on a positive

I would like to thank all the members for their support over the year. For all it is has been a difficult year but hopefully, many of you have been able to enjoy your golf for most of the year.

The pro shop team are always on hand to help with your golf, if you require professional advice on equipment, technique or simply how you can enjoy your golf more please come and speak to us.

Trey has been with us in the pro shop for 12 months and has made a really good start, thank you to all the members who have made Trey feel such a part of the golf club and sought his professional advice.

We are all looking forward to hopefully a more settled 2021 and plenty of opportunities to keep on playing and enjoying our golf.

We are trying to keep the practice ground open and supplying golf balls even when the course is closed but this has been difficult due to how wet the area is.

Work on the Practice sheds is continuing to make a better environment for practice and this work should be complete early in the New Year.

Plus, we have plenty of Christmas gifts available...

 

Christmas Click and Collect

Please continue to email your orders through to john@johnrichardsgolf.com and we will try and source the product at the best price for you.

Fortunately, in-store, winter golf clothing is still available in abundance so please call into the pro shop and take a look.

To avoid disappointment if you are thinking of a golf gift please get in touch as soon as possible as everything is taking longer to arrive.

Monday will be the last day for club crested items to be ordered so if you are thinking of a club crested sweater please get in touch this weekend.

Hardware Clear-out

We have a few products that we starting to clear out to make way for next year’s new range.

We are looking to start clearing PING WEDGES - reduced from £139 down to £99.

All PING drivers, fairways and hybrids are now 20% OFF the RRP.

Golf on Tour

Westwood and Fitzpatrick taste glory

The season-ending DP World Tour Championship lived up to expectations over the weekend, delivering an incredible tournament with the European Tour’s best golfers battling it out until the final hole. In the end, it was Matthew Fitzpatrick who won the event and took home a cool $3 million for a second time, paring his final hole after a nervy bogey at the 17th to win by one.

But it wasn’t just a one-off event. The Dubai-based finale also saw the Race to Dubai – the tour’s order of merit - come to a close. For much of the week, it looked as though Patrick Reed would secure the title and be the first American to do so. However, after Fitzpatrick’s blistering start on Sunday, he was in pole position. Yet, come to the 72nd hole, it was a certain Mr Lee Westwood who went on to celebrate his third order of merit title at the age of 47.

A fantastic achievement. Maybe his Ryder Cup career isn’t over just yet?
