Golf Club Policies These are difficult times with much confusion on how the country handles the current events.
Allan McVittie, our chairman, has been holding regular meetings on how Shrewsbury golf should be handling the virus pandemic and I hope you agree with me that Allan has done a great job on updating the Shrewsbury golf club website with our current policies on a ever-changing situation. For full details please visit the golf clubs website. In short The clubhouse is currently closed except access to the men’s and ladies changing rooms. The golf course remains open (new local rule all bunkers to be treated as GUR) Competition March Medal on Saturday is still due to go ahead. Competition guidelines will be continually updated and reviewed. Please keep checking club website and I will try and keep you updated through my newsletter. The pro shop is currently planning to stay open and one to one individual coaching will continue. To protect staff please avoid the shop if you are feeling unwell, please pay by contactless if you can to avoid handling cash. The pro shop team is becoming experts in using antibacterial wipes. These are difficult times and I hope you all remain safe and healthy and we can all get through this terrible situation very quickly. Golf is seen as a low-risk activity, if you are feeling well please enjoy playing. Walking outside has plenty of health benefits but please adhere to the social distancing and all other medical advice.
