The Prior Cup
Last Sunday the golf club played a match against Shrewsbury School, the day went very well with Mark Wootton organising the home team and Mark Schofield Captaining the Shrewsbury School Team. As always, the matches were played in a good competitive spirit with Shrewsbury Golf Club coming out as this year's victors. The cup was first played for in 1920 so therefore next year will be the 100th year. Over this period of time the cup has been won almost equally by both sides and both teams are looking forward to next year's match.

Seniors' Matches With all the Shrewsbury teams doing well this year it was time to catch up with how the seniors have been getting on, and I am pleased to say that they have had an excellent season. Thank you to the Seniors' Captain, Dave Fisher, for the supplying the following; "The seniors are now approaching the end of the season of club matches. They have played 22 out of 24 matches with one more home game to be played in October. One game has been cancelled and we have been unable to re-arrange the match. So far, we have lost three, halved two and won the rest. I would like to thank all the members who have supported the matches this year."

Grafton Cup Thank you to Adrian Price who sent the us following; "Last Friday the ladies played the gents in the annual Grafton Cup match, there was a lot of expectation, as the gents won the trophy last year, nine teams competed in a four ball betterball format, the matches were very close with the final match determining the result, the gents narrowly winning 5-4, the matches were all played in a fantastic spirit and were enjoyed by all who took part."
