4BBB Stableford Winter Knockout
In blustery conditions last Sunday 50 pairs competed to qualify for the Winter Pairs Knockout. There were some very good scores on the day including a fantastic 45 points from the winners Phil Millar and Stewart Jones. Congratulations to all those who qualified for the next stage.

Rose Bowl
Congratulations to David Balchin who won the Rose Bowl in a playoff against Iain Gilmour last Saturday. The match was very keenly fought in good conditions with both players enjoying the experience of playing for the trophy. I have been informed that David was especially pleased to win this time after finishing 2nd to Iain in the same competition in 2008!
County Junior Playing Day
In my role as Chairman of the County Golf Partnership I would like to thank the ladies who very kindly gave up one of their Wednesday competition days to allow the county juniors to play in an event at Shrewsbury Golf Club during the half term holidays.
We had young juniors competing from all over the 2 counties and some from Shrewsbury. The day went very well and everybody was very pleased with the experience of being able to compete at Shrewsbury Golf Club. Well done to my daughter Katie who stood in last minute and managed to win a prize. I was hoping that this may inspire her to play more golf but unfortunately when I asked her in front of the county officials if she enjoyed her golf she answered yes but then listed all of her other sports and hobbies that she currently preferred!
