Welcome to another edition of our newsletter, in this week’s mail we have results from the Ladies 18 Hole Stabelford competition and look at some brilliant offers we have in the shop in the lead up to Christmas.

Competition news

On the course...

Unfortunately last weekend’s stableford was cancelled due to the weather. This is the first time the course has been closed this winter period and the correct decision was made to call the competition off in order to protect a very wet and waterlogged course.

This weekend we have a junior competition on Saturday and a men’s shotgun on Sunday, this is an 8:30 start.

The online sign-up is open for both the Phil Burgess Greensomes and the Christmas mixed Greensomes competition, this can be found on the Shrewsbury GC website under the competition section.

Ladies 18 Hole Stableford

Division One - In first place was Hilary Fowles with 37 points. In second was Jean Evans with 33 points and in third place was Shirley Watson with 30 points.

Division Two - In first place was Christine Paddock with 35 points. In second was Elaine Adams with 28 points and in third place was Sandra Haw with 27 points.

Division Three - In first place was Kate George with 23 points.

Also congratulations to Sue Pritchard (pictured) who had her first ever hole-in-one on the 14th hole during the competition.

Prize Night

Prize Night was very well attended last week. Congratulations to all the winners and it was good to see so many members attending. The ladies and Men’s competition committees put so much time and effort in organising the evening and it is good to see that their efforts are appreciated. Thank you to Richard Beason and Graham Evans who worked hard this year organising the Junior competitions and it was good that all the Junior winners were in attendance. Well done to the Seniors section who donated a P.A System to the golf club which was used for the first time at this event.

Hopefully you have received your Pro Shop £10 Christmas voucher by the end of this week, if you haven’t please give the Pro shop a call.

The £10 voucher can be used on any product apart from golf balls and can only be used on a transaction over £49 so make sure you pop in and spend it on some of our fantastic products.

Lambswool and Merino wool sweaters are often a very popular Christmas gift. If any members would like to order a club crested sweater, it must be ordered within the next two weeks! Please contact the Pro Shop to confirm your order.

Winter is here!

With the winter months well and truly upon us, it’s time to stock up on all the essentials that will keep you warm and dry out on the course.

Obviously we can’t hold stock of all products and sizes, but we are happy to order in any items in that members require and will match online prices.
