Open Championship

I hope you are all enjoying the Open and it is great to see such good coverage on terrestrial television hopefully coverage like this and last week’s Ladies Open will help to inspire future generations and local juniors into the game.

Well done to local golfer Ashley Chesters who yesterday shot a great score of 2 under par at The Open Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club. To put this score in perspective Ash was only 1 shot behind Tiger Woods and had the lowest score of any English player beating Westwood, Rose, Poulter etc in the Championship. We would like to wish Ashley the best of luck today and hopefully he can be there for the weekend. Look out for Ricky caddying.

The Club Championships

We had a great day for the Club Championships last Sunday. Well done to all the members who were involved in organising the event and completing 36 holes in the heat last Weekend.

Congratulations to Duncan Harris who yet again displayed his talent for the game by winning the event by 4 shots after shooting an under par round in the afternoon.

Well done to Hillary Fabian who won the ladies event by 3 shots from Karen Thaw.
