Welcome to another addition of our newsletter, this week we report on the knockout finals, invite you to our demo day, welcome in our autumn/winter stock and give you the chance to get friend or family member into golf. Enjoy the read!

Knockout finals

Last Weekend saw the finals of our annual knockout competitions taking place. With finals being played over both days, there was plenty of good golf on display. Well done to all those who got through to the finals day and congratulations to the winners. Please see below for the results:

Presidents Putter - Rob Harding beat Mike Saull

Peter Jones Putter - Sam Patterson beat Dan Sherratt

Annual Foursomes - Jeff Moody and Keith Barker beat Mike Newbury and Peter Reaney

Ladies Section

The ladies played an 18 holes singles stableford competition with a shotgun start on Wednesday 20th September – a competition very kindly sponsored by the Club President, Mr Phil Dodd. The winners were:

• 1st Prize: (net score): Maggie Millward: 35 points OCB
• 2nd Prize: (net score): Sue Pritchard: 35 points
• 3rd Prize: (net score): Elaine Adams (2): 33 points OCB
• 4th Prize: (net score): Jan Dodd: 33 points OCB
• 5th Prize: (net score): Linda Perks: 33 points
• Best Gross score: Hilary Fowles: 22 gross

The ladies wish to thank the club president for his generosity in sponsoring this event.

Jayne Breeze has got some photos printed from her Ladies Captain’s day of everybody who played and the winners which are in the ladies locker room. Jayne would like you to please take a photo and leave a donation for the Captain’s charity.

Monday Mixed Social

As the Monday Mixed Social competitions draws to a close for 2017, we have been lucky to have played most of our games, none more so than this week.

After a great deluge of rain, flooding on the greens was an issue but after much deliberation 15 competitors decided to play the final game which was to be a Texas Scramble.

The results were as follows:

• 1st - Tina Robinson, Roger Withinshaw & Bob Hill -10.25
• 2nd - Sheila Band, Sue Westwood, David Fisher & Roy Dodd -8.5
• 3rd - Alwena Edwards, Paula Lucas, Barry Russell & Wyndham Emmott -7.2
• 4th - Annie Home-Dodd, Di Robinson, Steve Hattersley & Roy Humphreys -5.3
