Titleist Demo Day - Saturday 1st July
This Saturday we are running a Titleist demo day from 10am-2pm. If you are interested in trying any Titleist equipment including the new drivers, Scotty Cameron putters, Vokey wedges or Titleist irons then please call the proshop to book a slot.
We have a very experienced Titleist fitter here on the day who will be using trackman, therefore anybody wanting to test clubs and see their numbers will be able to do so. Please bring your driver along if you wish to test its performance against the titlist 917.
Tim the Fitting expert will also have ladies and left handed clubs to try plus many different shafts. If you are interested in how the technology in these golf clubs can help you then this is a great opportunity, please click here if you are interested.

Well done to Tina Robinson & Hilary Fabian. In second and third places with 20 points were Annie-Home Dodd & Roger Withinshaw; Ruth Grafton & Bob Hill.
Next week we are playing a mixed Texas Scramble. Please arrive by 4.40pm for a 4.45pm draw.
Severndale Charity Day
Last Friday we hosted the Severndale Charity Day. With over 160 players this is one of the largest days in the golf clubs calendar. The weather and course conditions were perfect and the event went very well with many of the participants stating how much they enjoyed the whole day and would be returning next year. The golf day has raised over £10,000 for the school.
Team winners were visitors representing JS construction on 100 points followed by a team of Shrewsbury members the Woodall Brothers on 99 points (Richard & Paul Woodall, Mark Yiend and Peter Taylor )
In the individual event it was a great day for Alistair Mccormick who won the best individual prize with 37 points, the longest drive on the 9th and then won first prize in the raffle.
The pro shop are taking some credit for Alistair's fine performance on the day for he turned up looking a little dishevelled but within a couple of minutes in the pro shop we had smartened him up in a new Oscar Jacobson sweater convincing him that to play to his best he needed to look his best. With a lighter wallet Alistair walked out of the pro shop looking very smart and then put in one of his best performances of the season. (Please note we are starting our Pro Shop Summer Shirt Sale this Weekend!)
Congratulations to Chris Breeze who finished in 2nd place and to the following Shrewsbury Ladies who all won prizes, Jean Evans 33pts, Pipa Henshaw 31pts and Karen Thaw 31pts.
Thank you to Graham Evans and Hugh from Aaron and partners who organised and sponsored a tournament for the pupils from severndale school to participate in. The pupils played some short holes on the practice ground which was prepared very well by Dan Perry and his Green keeping team.
The Severndale pupils pictured with Graham and Hugh were Nathan and Mark who have both been receiving weekly coaching at Shrewsbury golf club and were involved in a playoff for the trophy.

He has roped 7 other golf professionals into helping him walk the mountain and raise some funds. If you are feeling generous could you please click on the following link and leave a small donation.
