Well Done to Allan Mcvittie, who organised his Scottish friends to entertain a full Marquee last Friday. It was great to see the Marquee filled to its capacity and everybody having such a great evening. There was plenty of dancing and drinking and most probably a few sore heads in the morning. It was a fantastic evening and thank you to Allan for introducing us to Scocha.
The next big social event will be the Summer Ball and the captain has organised a brilliant local band which includes Neville France, one of our members to entertain you. This will be a great night and tickets are available from behind the bar.
Mixed Friendly
On Sunday, 21 May we have a mixed friendly against Llanymynech, 12:00 start. We require eight men and eight ladies. Please sign up on the mixed notice board.

Scocha Folk Evening - (Allan McVittie)
The marquee folk n'rolled to the music of Scocha from Hawick in the Scottish Borders on Friday night. The audience was a mix of members and guests who hadn't experienced a Scocha gig before and Shropshire Scocha fans who had attended previous gigs at Picklescott Village Hall. Scocha have played there six times since playing there for the first time in 2005. They were on great form and had the audience stamping their feet and clapping their hands from the outset with a stirring opening number of 'Wha wouldnae fecht' for Charlie (Who wouldn't fight for Bonnie Prince Charlie).
By all accounts, everyone had a great evening's entertainment and fun. I'm hopeful that Scocha will make a return visit in the not too distant future. They thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing to so many Scocha "virgins". The Saltire bunting, Scottish flags, tartan table decorations and heathers all helped to create the right atmosphere in the marquee. By the end of the night the dance area was full to overflowing. Mick Jagger even made a guest appearance during the encore.
Allan McVittie Seniors Captain.
