Monday Mixed Social - thank you to Hillary Fabian for the following;
This week saw the first Monday Night Mixed Social Golf of the season. 32 members played a Texas Scramble in the opening session. The fine weather helped to make it a very successful evening and after the competition we ate a tasty meal of gammon, egg and chips or baked potato with a variety of fillings.
Congratulations to the winners Monica Scott, Tina Robinson and Chris George; close behind were Elaine Adams, Jean Evans, Lee Bennett and Dave Fisher; and in third place Gill Ferguson, Sandy Hallett and Allan McVittie.
Both Captains were welcomed after the event which raised £32.00 for their charities. Thank you to everyone who contributed.
Next Monday, 10 April there will be a mixed greensomes competition starting at 4.30pm. Please sign up online and arrive by 4.15pm for the draw.

Seniors Coaching
On Wednesday we had a good turn out of seniors keen to improve their bunker and lob shots. At the end of the session we had a competition to see who could hit the best bunker shot. The seniors,being fiercely competitive, all hit great shots from the sand with many balls surrounding the hole. But it was this shot from Tony Burgan that took the prize of bunker shot of the day.
Thank you to all the seniors that attended. The next session on Wednesday will be covering putting.
Please register in the pro shop if you would like to attend.
The start of the golfing season is here
As you know, each month we run a poll on our website to get your views on the latest golfing stories or upcoming events.
Last month we asked you to vote on who you think would win this week's Masters and it was the most answered poll we've ever run, so thank you.
There were only a few votes between the top two answers, with 'A.N. Other' just beating in-form Dustin Johnson to the top of the poll. It's not surprising that the world number one is right up there as one of your favourites with just under 25% of the votes considering he's won his last three events, with Rory McIlroy leading the British charge with over 20% of you voting for him.
The Masters signals the start of the golfing season for many golfers, meaning it's time to dust off those golf clubs and come down the club for a bit of practice or a few holes. How else will you play like the pros this season? Enjoy the weekend's viewing, and in the meantime why not have a look at April's poll on our website?
