You will be pleased to hear that this is my last newsletter of the year and I hope that you have found the weekly newsletter useful in keeping you up to date on the various events at Shrewsbury golf club. I would like to thank all the members for the support that they have given to the pro shop and the staff. The pro shop team Anne, Simon, Connor and Tom (plus Oliver and Katie during School Holidays) do try very hard to offer the members the best possible service and I was pleased that the member's survey results showed that you do enjoy a very positive experience. We will continue to try to offer the best service we can and to remain price competitive by matching American Golf prices. Whilst browsing on the internet, if you see any products that you are interested in, please feel free to take pictures, email or give us a call at the pro shop, and we will be happy to give you some advice and order the products if needed, so that you can pay and collect from the pro shop hassle free.
Thank you to all the committee members and club officials who do put a lot of time into running the various events and when you look through the club diary you can see that we are very active golf club. Thank you to our Captains this year Keith and Sheila and also to the senior's captain Adrian Price and Junior Captain Larissa Jones who have all been very supportive and have enjoyed their year in office.
On behalf of the Pro Shop we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous 2017.
The Mixed Christmas Greensomes competition last Sunday was very well supported and the clubhouse remained busy as most of the competitors stayed for the presentation and enjoyed a social drink. The Christmas Party on Saturday night was a success with everyone commenting on the good meal and the enjoyable atmosphere.
The club house still has a couple of more functions that you can attend, tonight is carols in the club house which is always very well supported and a nice social evening and the bar staff are still selling tickets for the New Years Eve Party.

Thank you to the Ladies section who continue to send me their competition results and to Margaret Burge who has worked tirelessly over the past few years running the Ladies Competitions. Margaret has done a wonderful job making our life in the pro shop easier. Without her slips of paper explaining the rules of the different types of scrambles and waltzes at times we may have struggled!
