Last Sunday the golf club invited all the new members who joined the golf club this year to a get together with 9 holes of golf and a buffet. 

The Captain, Lady Captain and Seniors Captain were all there to welcome the new members with a drink and to answer any questions regarding the golf club. 

We had 7 teams of 4 take part in the 9 hole competition and the ladies Captains team did exceptionally well scoring an impressive 46 points over 9 holes to win the event by 3 shots from Captains team. 

Congratulations to Sandra, Kate, Sheila and Liz who won the event.



Yonex today have launched a new range of clubs called the Ezone Elite. Within this range there is a specific ladies model which is designed to provide distance and forgiveness for slower swing speeds with Octaforce technology.

This Sunday we have the Phil Burgess greensomes which is a Shotgun Start at 9am. 
On Wednesday the 7th we have the ladies 9 hole Christmas Shotgun at 10am. 
On Sunday the 11th we have the mixed Christmas Greensomes.

Hargrove Result By Tom Kerr 

Unfortunately Shrewsbury's run in the Hargrove came to a disappointing end after a 2.5-0.5 loss at home to Hawkstone Park on Sunday. Needing to overturn a 2-1 3 holes down deficit, the morning started positively with two games winning and one all square after 9 holes but the tide soon turned with Hawkstone fighting back to win and progress through into the semi finals. The results were as follows, Barry Ruddick and Tom Kerr lost 1 down. Sean McCarthy and Mark Corfield lost 4 down and Nick Evans and Martyn Travis halved. Good luck to Hawkstone Park in the Semi Final. Finally both A and B teams would like to thank Ray Mackereth for his support each year in the Hargrove, it is greatly appreciated by all the players.
