Last weekend, the club hosted finals weekend. The weather was perfect with plenty of sun and only a slight breeze. Both days went smoothly and the matches were played in great spirit, well done to everyone who participated, and thank you to all who helped with the refereeing.

Most of the matches ended very close and I would like to congratulate Kevin Meaning for his great effort in the Brassie final against Tom Kerr. Although Tom was a clear favourite to win this match Kevin did produce 9 birdies on the day to take Tom down the 36th hole. Well done to Tom who withstood Kevin's efforts to eventually win the trophy for the second year running.

During the summer, The Monday night social has been very well supported but more gentlemen are always required. To conclude there is a mixed social final gathering on Saturday 1st October at 12 o'clock, the signup sheet is in the spike bar opposite the main Men's notice board. The format is mixed greensomes with an entry fee of £2. It would be great to get a full field of competitors, we currently have more ladies than men therefore this event requires a little more support from the Men's section.

- We have received some help from various manufactures to help clear our current stock of wedges.
