Our good run of fine dry weather came to an abrupt end yesterday with a severe down pour which made the greens unplayable in the morning for the senior's competition and the Thursday Stableford. The Furrows Tankard has now been re arranged for Tuesday 20th May and bookings for this event are open.

This Saturday the club is hosting a ladies regional event organised by England Golf. 120 ladies from all over the Midlands and the North of England have won qualifying events at their home clubs to get through to this stage and I would like to wish our Shrewsbury qualifier Jean Evans the best of luck tomorrow. 

On Monday we have a Bank Holiday stableford competition, there are no start times for this event you can simply enter in the pro shop on arrival. 

PGA Graduation

As part of your membership at Shrewsbury Golf Club you are entitled to collect a free County Card book which gives you discounted Green fee rates around the country. These are available for you to collect either from the Bar or the Pro Shop.

The Junior Academy on a Friday night is going well, any members with children that may be interested in attending the academy please contact the Pro Shop for more information. 

Ladies Group Coaching Tuesday Mornings 9.30 am

Get Into Golf 

This year again Shrewsbury golf club is supporting this initiative to try and grow the game of golf. 

Junior Open Day Sunday 11th May 2pm to 4 pm 

We are looking to recruit more juniors so if you know of any young family members or children who have expressed an interest in the game please pencil this date in your diary and bring them along. Please contact the pro shop for more details.

Open Day 

On Sunday 18th May we will be running an Open Family day at the golf club that offers FREE Coaching and "get into golf activities" for golfers and non golfers. We are looking for you to bring along friends, family or colleagues who would like to try golf and all equipment and practice balls will be provided on the day. Refreshments will also be provided in the clubhouse.

Tuesday 13th May 6.30 - 7.30 

Every year we offer a course of lessons for lady Beginners. This year it will on a Tuesday evening from 6.30 starting in May. The course lasts for 5 weeks and we will supply all the necessary equipment. If you know of any friends or family members who may want to try golf or possibly get back into the sport after a long layoff please contact the pro shop.
