Last Sunday's Team Competition was well supported with a full field.
Please note that the published competition results on the club website are only for the top few cards which have been entered into the computer. The website only shows the 2s recorded on the winning scorecards. Last weekend there was a total of 14 two's which were checked manually. Therefore if your name has not appeared on the club website of recording a 2 it is due to the fact that not all the cards for winter team competitions are entered.
But, please be reassured that the cards are checked manually and your account will have been credited. Les Lewis the comps chairman is currently reviewing this procedure so that all team scores are entered into the computer after a shotgun start. This procedure will then allow a full list of all the scores to be published.

Congratulations to Sean McCarthy who was this week named as the Shropshire and Herefordshire County Captain for 2016 and 2017.
This is not only a huge honour for Sean but also for Shrewsbury Golf Club. Sean has been a regular County golfer for several years and this position is well deserved. I'm sure you will join me in wishing him all the best for the coming season and beyond.
This year will see Shrewsbury Golf Club host the England Golf County Championships on Saturday 18 June. It would be good to see a great number of members supporting the County Team during this event. This is a very prestigious event and one that Shrewsbury Golf Club are very proud to be hosting.
Green Keepers News from Dan Perry
With the weather being relatively good this week. We have been continuing to work on the greens, slitting and top dressing. The surfaces are putting well for this time of year. We have also been busy felling trees on the front 9 to allow the other trees to flourish and to re plant some different species. With the strong winds the course is drying out well and therefore the course has been open for play.
