CompetitionsRules
I have received a couple of questions withreference to the procedure for playing"preferred lies "
Hopefully the below clarifies some of thequestions.
Currently we are playing preferred lies throughthe green. The purpose of this is to promotefair play and protect the course. Players arereminded that the ball needs to be marked beforelifting the ball. The ball can then be cleanedand placed within 6 inches not nearer the hole.If a player fails to mark the position of theball before lifting it, the player incurs apenalty of one stroke. Players cannot roll theball from its original position using their clubwithout incurring a shot penalty.
